Sermon on the Blog
I have found solace in the Big Book this year (The Bible). It is an ocean of lessons on life, lessons that I would love to share with you. I know that not everyone who reads this blog is a Christian. Please bear with me. You do not have to be a Christian to apply these lessons anyway.

What I Learned Through Blogging in 2009 – Part One
In January 2009, I set out on a public self improvement journey on this blog. Through blogging, I was able to re-connect with old friends and make new friends. I was able to meet many of my goals and establish my path to success. Was it easy? No it was not. But I am glad I did it.

Thanks a Million 2009
Very soon writing New Year’s resolutions will be back in vogue. Before I jump on that wagon too, I would like to take a moment to reflect on 2009.
In January 2009, I set out on a journey of self improvement. I purposed it in my heart to change the trajectory of my life. At that point, my life was in shambles. There were riots in my mind and heart. I needed to quell the uprising within me. The only way to drive out the negative demons was to invite positive angels. It is not easy to change one’s life but I did it; through the grace of God, the power of positive thinking, and the support of friends.

Do you have a Blueprint for Success?
A prudent construction company will not start building a house before designing the blueprint for it. Many people set out to be successful without planning exactly how they are going to get there or even have a way of verifying that they have arrived. It is like setting out to sea without a compass. You may get to your destination, but it may take a long time. You will get there a whole lot faster if you have a compass. Likewise to succeed you need to have a blueprint or framework.

Success: How Badly do You Want it?
I will start today’s post with a confession: I have a ravenous desire for success, hence this website. I am passionate about inspiring my friends to be the best they can be. My path to freedom and happiness is tied to how well I can inspire you. I am starving for success that is intricately tied to your success. Do you have a ravenous desire for success? Are you really hungry for success? How so?
We previously talked about what success means, and how to create a blueprint for your success. I truly believe that your success or failure is all in the mind. If you really need success and purpose it in your mind then you will succeed. But you need to be hungry for it.
A story is told of a shy young man who wanted to succeed. He saw an older man from his home town fishing. He mustered some courage and approached the highly successful old man and asked, “What is the secret to your success?”. Without saying as much as a word to the young man, the old man grabbed him and pushed him down into the lake.
The young man struggled to free himself, but the old man was strong and held him down. After a few minutes of a shockingly fierce struggle the old man pulled out the young from the water. The young man was belligerent and held the old man by the neck. “Why were were you trying to kill me?”, he asked.
The old man looked at the young man straight into his eyes and said “You see how much you wanted to breath while under the water. If you shall desire success with such intensity, then my son success shall be right there waiting for you.
Serenity
CALMNESS of mind is one of the beautiful jewels of wisdom. It is the result of long and patient effort in self-control. Its presence is an indication of ripened experience, and of a more than ordinary knowledge of the laws and operations of thought.

Visions and Ideals
THE dreamers are the saviours of the world. As the visible world is sustained by the invisible, so men, through all their trials and sins and sordid vocations, are nourished by the beautiful visions of their solitary dreamers. Humanity cannot forget its dreamers; it cannot let their ideals fade and die; it lives in them; it knows them as they realities which it shall one day see and know.

The Thought-Factor in Achievement
ALL that a man achieves and all that he fails to achieve is the direct result of his own thoughts. In a justly ordered universe, where loss of equipoise would mean total destruction, individual responsibility must be absolute. A man’s weakness and strength, purity and impurity, are his own, and not another man’s; they are brought about by himself, and not by another; and they can only be altered by himself, never by another. His condition is also his own, and not another man’s. His suffering and his happiness are evolved from within. As he thinks, so he is; as he continues to think, so he remains.

Thought and Purpose
UNTIL thought is linked with purpose there is no intelligent accomplishment. With the majority the bark of thought is allowed to “drift” upon the ocean of life. Aimlessness is a vice, and such drifting must not continue for him who would steer clear of catastrophe and destruction.

Effect of Thought on Health and the Body
THE body is the servant of the mind. It obeys the operations of the mind, whether they be deliberately chosen or automatically expressed. At the bidding of unlawful thoughts the body sinks rapidly into disease and decay; at the command of glad and beautiful thoughts it becomes clothed with youthfulness and beauty.

Effect of Thought on Circumstances – Part 2
Men are anxious to improve their circumstances, but are unwilling to improve themselves; they therefore remain bound. The man who does not shrink from self-crucifixion can never fail to accomplish the object upon which his heart is set. This is as true of earthly as of heavenly things. Even the man whose sole object is to acquire wealth must be prepared to make great personal sacrifices before he can accomplish his object; and how much more so he who would realize a strong and well-poised life?

Effect of Thought on Circumstances – Part 1
MAN’S mind may be likened to a garden, which may be intelligently cultivated or allowed to run wild; but whether cultivated or neglected, it must, and will, bring forth. If no useful seeds are put into it, then an abundance of useless weed-seeds will fall therein, and will continue to produce their kind.

Thought and Character
THE aphorism, “As a man thinketh in his heart so is he,” not only embraces the whole of a man’s being, but is so comprehensive as to reach out to every condition and circumstance of his life. A man is literally what he thinks, his character being the complete sum of all his thoughts.

As a Man Thinketh in His Mind
For the next few days, I will serialize one of the books that has had a tremendous impact on my life this year. It is a great book, called “As a man thinketh”, written so many years ago by James Allen. I hope you will be inspired as much as I am by this great book.

I appreciate that not everyone who comes to this blog is a Christian. Having said that, I would like to share some Biblical teachings that will hopefully inspire you, regardless of your religious beliefs or faith. Sex, Power and Success – Part 2
This is Continued from Part 1 of the topic of Sex, Power and Success. The emotion of sex is an “irresistible force,” against which there can be no such opposition as an “immovable body.” When driven by this emotion, men become gifted with a super power for action. Understand this truth, and you will catch the significance of the statement that sex transmutation will lift one to the status of a genius.
The emotion of sex contains the secret of creative ability.

Sex, Power and Success – Part 1
The mind is a powerful tool at our disposal. Napoleon Hill, in his classic text, Think and Grow Rich, opined that the transmutation sexual energy can lead to success in other areas of life. People become really creative when looking for sex or sex partners. If that drive and creativity can be directed, deliberately, to another pursuit, one can improve his or her probability of success.

How to Amplify Your Potential

Be Prepared for Success
A farmer knows that they have to plant the right seeds at the right season. They also know that they have to till the land before planting. The kind of preparation done by a small scale farmer is different from that done by a large scale commercial farmer. The type and level of preparation determines your destiny.

Success Tip From Barack Obama
A few words from US President Barack Obama inspired me today. My first instinct was to share them with you.
- “Making your mark on the world is hard. If it were easy, everybody would do it. But it’s not. It takes patience, it takes commitment, and it comes with plenty of failure along the way. The real test is not whether you avoid this failure, because you won’t. it’s whether you let it harden or shame you into inaction, or whether you learn from it; whether you choose to persevere”.
- “Focusing your life solely on making a buck shows a certain poverty of ambition. It asks too little of yourself. Because it’s only when you hitch your wagon to something larger than yourself that you realize your true potential”.

Mastering Self Confidence for Success
My self confidence has always swung like a pendulum. Sometimes it is giant sized, other times it is midget sized. Sometimes it is up north, other times it is in the Deep South. Mostly, it is somewhere in between. In the new style blog, I will be tackling problems that are real to me or people around me. It is easier to communicate issues that I have a firm grasp on. So let us kick off with confidence.
Self confidence is an attitude. It is a state of mind that makes us see our lives from a positive perspective. When confident, we are able to believe in our strengths and abilities, and are enthusiastic about what we go through everyday. Self confidence gives us pride, independence, and emotional maturity to handle different situations and handle criticism.

Clarity Begins at Home
On the 5th of January this year, I set out on a journey to inspire my friends through this blog. I set out some objectives for my efforts but those objectives were vague at best. At the back of my mind, I knew it was possible to connect with others using the blog, and make a difference in people’s lives.
Reality Checks in …
Vital Qualities of a Right Hand Man
One vital relationship that you need in your success journey is a right hand man (or woman). You need a friend, a close friend who will be your sounding board for your ideas. A person who will keep you in check and ensure that you are on the right track in your quest for success.
Not all your friends can play this role of a right hand man. Not everyone in your career line can do that either. To ensure that you have the right man (or woman) for the job, be careful to check that they have some of these qualities.
