I started following up on your blog about a week ago. Permit me to say that you are a breath of fresh air. Your write ups are inspiring and thought provoking, I think you should try and take it to the next level and be a professional life coach.

It's great to see you're focussing on the ethical and positive aspects of running corporations, Daniel.

By sheer coincidence, last night I watched most of the documentary "The Corporation". I will watch the rest of it soon. As I'm sure you're well aware, often corporations put profit far above the health and wellbeing of their workers, the conservation of the environment and so on. Millions of people the world all over are exploited and starving due to a number of corporations. Our rivers, plants and animals are being destroyed through pollution, deforestation etc.

We can apply this negative aspect to running our lives like a corporation. We can recommend that people do not put their own agenda above and beyond other people's wellbeing/the quality of the enviroment..., i.e. avoid the mentality of "sc..w you, I'll do what I want, where I want...to get what I want, irrespective of who and what I hurt/destroy/manipulate/lie to or whatever." This parasitic mentality is cruel and destructive.

If more corporations truly cared about people, plants, animals and the environment as a whole, and focused on win-win situations rather than win-fail ones, the world would be far less polluted, kinder, less corrupt and so on. There would also be less starvation, fewer slums, greater equality... We would think long-term gain rather than quick,short-term fixes that cause long-term pain and destruction. It's a much needed paradigm shift. Switching to long-term investment in renewable energy over coal appears to be one sign of this shift.

So let's run our lives like ethical corporations, not unethical ones.

Cheers,
Nyomi

Daniel, you will see far when you stand on the shoulders of giants (Isaac Newton). What you are doing is creating those giants and when time comes your future will be so bright it will blinden our eyes because you will have our blessings.

Just a note, I like the concept of Corporations, You focussed on it. As I have come to grow into this life, I have realised lessons are around us. For example looking at the coorporation. What gives it strength or what makes it weak.Relating it to your own life.Or just looking at the garden and the fruit it bears or watching a baby grow ,these lessons are around us. But for now we are focussing on corporations.

@ Paula - As I said while launching this blog, I have earmarked 2009 as the year of my greatest ever personal and professional growth. In other words, I am currently on the basement level, climbing up the stairs. Learning all it takes to succeed, and sharing my lessons with my friends and the internet community. Therefore this website is also about inspiring me to succeed as it is for the people reading. Thank you for asking that question.

When I read this I was inspired a lot. Dan this is encouraging.. I was wondering have you applied all this principals in life? Because if you have then u must be one very successful guy. The idea of success is one that drives me in life. Knowing that someone will benefit from it makes it even more interesting...
I will keep watching for more lessons here....
Thank you.

Good analogy. How about comparing success with Government? We can have ministries of finance and maybe defence, foreign affairs, internal affairs and discreet affairs lol.
