The Amazing Power of “Why”
A beautiful mind asks why things happen. A beautiful mind questions instead of accepting whatever it is told. Do you have a beautiful mind? What kind of questions do you ask yourself? What kind of questions do you ask others?
Ask and it will be Revealed
I was going through life achieving a mediocre level of success. I was trying to run various online businesses without much success. Then one day, I discovered the power of questions, almost by chance. I started asking myself hard questions. Questions that the majority of people ignore.
I started asking myself; Who is Daniel Ngari? Why should Daniel Ngari succeed? What value could I offer others? What are my limitations? What are my strengths? What are my weaknesses? What personal flaws keep me down? What can I do today to make a better tomorrow? What next?
For about ten hours, I sat and started writing questions and answers.. I must have written hundreds and hundreds of questions. I found myself asking questions that I took for granted and getting life changing answers. You should try it sometime. They answers I found were very illuminating about my life. I feared that I had been a stranger even to myself. Many of those questions I asked on that day and the answers are scattered around this blog.
Why Ask Questions?
- Clarity of Purpose – If you ask yourself; why am I doing this? Why am I here? Why do I want to go there? Why do I want to get that? The questions will help clarify your purpose of doing things.
- Inspires Thinking – Without questions, man is like any other animal. Asking questions makes the mind move, stirs it up and makes it grow. Instead of accepting everything as fact, ask yourself questions. Have you asked yourself how your health will be in 10 years time if you keep up with current lifestyle? Keep questioning things. The answers may surprise you.
- Solves Problems – Asking questions helps come up with solutions to life’s problems. If you ask questions, you may discover problems and be on your way to solving them.
- Desire for Action – Questions intensify the hunger and need for taking action. When you ask yourself empowering questions like; what can I do to make this work? What do I have to do today? What needs to be done for this to turn into reality? You will find yourself gravitating towards taking action.
- Get off Zombie State – Many people just do things without thinking of the consequences. Asking questions like; what am I doing with my life? What kind of career do I aspire to have? How do I treat my friends? Questions like those will help you take more control of your destiny.
- Helps with Accountability – If you were not answerable to anyone, not even yourself, you would gravitate towards mediocrity. Ask yourself questions like; what did I achieve today? Did I finish what I started? Did I keep my promise to Stephen? Did I do the best I could?
- Sets Realistic Expectations – Questions help us understand problems and requirements better. Questions like; how long will it take me to finish that task? What will I expect to get out of this? Asking these kinds of questions before hand helps avoid disappointment caused by unmet expectations.
Questions that Changed Our World
- What if the earth revolved around the sun and not the other way round? Asking that question led Galileo Galilei to make one of the biggest discovery in science that has affected the world immensely today.
- What if every home and office had a personal computer? That question led Bill Gates and Microsoft to develop software and help bring the cost of computers down to be available at the finger tips of people around the world.
- Is it possible to fly a giant piece of metal across the Atlantic Ocean like a bird? That question led the Wright Brothers to come up with a working plane.
- What question can you ask yourself today that would change your life? What questions have you been avoiding to ask yourself?
Summary
The kind of questions you ask yourself determine the kind your destiny. Ask yourself the right kind of questions today and experience a shift in your mindset and fortunes.

Thanks Daniel,
Life is about questions and you have helped clarify this notion. I started questioning stuff about life and have learned a fair bit and still learning. why we do what we do? , why we believe what we believe? and why not change what we know for the better.

Hi Dan,
This is highly moltivating. Truely when we seat down, take a good look at ourselves we really have questions to ask and get answers to them if well meditated upon.

Mr Ngari
You are the right person Kenya is looking for. We need someone who speaks positivity into our minds. There’s been too much hurting and negative words flung all over. I watched the Louis Otieno Live ‘State of the Nation’ on Citizen, and I realized just how deeply wounded people are and how cheated we feel. But then, what did we trust in? Were we following truth or fantasy? What were we expecting? Who is going to change all this? Ngari, I think too. And i decided a long ago, it must start with me. And I must measure myself in light of how God sees me.

Its true that when you ask a question, then u expect an answer… and I believe that when we ask ourselves the why… then we go looking for the answers which I believe make us better because in the process of getting them, we may run across things we did not even think about and in the long run we are made better persons….
Why am I commenting on this blog?????… lol

Thanx once again Dan, this is very illuminating in that we do a self evaluation. It brings to surface the very core of our ideals, strengths, and weaknesses. I love it.
