I can cry and say how unfair you are for diving right where it hurts but for elevation one has to let go of comfortable crippling habits and dare to believe that greatness is actually achieveble. As one steps out into the unknown, holding onto the tiniest sliver of hope, tangible progress will be attained, thoughts will actually change, reality is bound to be altered and in the long run, destiny that seemed far-fetched will embrace you like a lover. We (myself included) are not so committment-phobic as we are irresponsible. Knowing that we are responsible for the progress of something or someone freaks us out to the point of inability. The sooner we realize that that life we creave for...that's our responsibility ==>to nurture the dream, to sweat it out to make it happen, to be vigillant that no-one puts out our fire....all our responsibility. It's also a little disappointing that not so many boys are being inspired to leave a comment, I wonder why that is? Anotherwords, as a gender, we will (I am generalising) look to the end result but not necessarily the path that gets us there. We may not wish to consider our strategies (read committment)for fear of FAILURE and that, fellow readers is the basis for making bad decisions, for non-planning, for running away from our responsibilities and finally for actually believing that we won't succeed in life. For these reasons I do believe that the incidence of not being committed in life will tend to be more common with the guys than with the girls. Girls are by nature the nurturers and providers of the basic necessities of life for the family, producing food, shelter and protection for their children. They must forward plan to feed and clothe their families whilst the men are running around being results driven all day! I stress, these are generalist observations, because there are many,many guys out there who are very focussed on their action plan and provide well for their partners and families. So, fear of failure is the culprit as I see things, we are all scared of losing, being made to look stupid, inadequate and second rate, so, we either don't, or if we do, we don't plan and focus. Daniel and fellow readers, the most wonderful thing about being truly committed is that the fear of failure diminishes with each successive 'win' and the jubilation of success spurs us on to succeed some more!
