Self mastery means becoming the master of your own ship. It means becoming the primary guiding force to your destiny. It is the ability to reign supreme on your desires, impulses, emotions, appetite and mind. This ability cannot be bought with money or fame, but can be developed through discipline. Self mastery means being in control of yourself and not letting your emotions and impulses dictate your life.
Strength of Character
Character is the inherent complex of attributes that determines your moral and ethical actions and reactions. Character is different from talent, it is shaped over time by the events, decisions you make and actions that you take. The strength of someone’s character refers to their inner person, whom they really at the core.
When a man loses every single earthly possession all he has to fall back on is his character. The strength of character consists of virtues such as integrity, courage, fortitude, honesty, and loyalty, good behaviors or habits. Character is what determines a person’s ultimate destiny.
The good thing is that the strength of character can be developed, just as iron is turned into steel. Iron is made stronger by removing impurities and stress hardening. You can develop strength of character by getting rid of negative influences and behaviors in your life (impurities) and stress training (getting out of your comfort zone).
Character can also be developed by learning from others through observation, reading or listening. Just as iron is converted to steel in different stages, you can develop your strength of character progressively.
What are you core values?
This blog’s purpose is to inspire you to be the best you can be. You become the best by being in control of yourself and your actions. Your actions are dictated your values. Types of values include ethical/moral values, doctrinal/ideological (political, religious) values, social values, and aesthetic values. It is very important that you clarify to yourself what your core values are and build your character around that.
Summary
We have looked at the topic of Self Mastery that will be the central theme of this website. Self mastery is the most important ingredient for success. Without self mastery, you would be doing whatever you feel like regardless of how it affects your future, your friends or family.
Self mastery means being self aware. It means being in control of your person, keeping your thoughts on a leash. Your mind is very powerful and you should continuously feed it with positive thoughts.

Precisely:)
I just joined some meditation classes recently and what is fascinating about this practice is the power of the mind which really is being your own master.
I would encourage others to try, could be when you are relaxing and try focus on one thing, could be that cold feeling on your throat when inhaling and exhaling. So you realise trying to hold that thought for about a minute, other thoughts try to come to your mind. Now try for 5 mins or 10mins or an hour.
The whole essence is to “shoo’ away other thoughts, and telling your mind, “not now, later” but as my teacher told us, do it as you would to a child.Othwerwise it becomes a tag of war, battle within you in your own mind.He also mentioned that when you have no control of your mind is like having a drunk monkey on a steering wheel.
When you master being in control of your mind, your inner voice is more profound and you will be in a position to negotiate on what affects you could be even comments from the outside.Knowing thyself.
Daniel, you are in the harmony of the truth and all is unfolding infront of you as it should:)

This is IT I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT. SORRY I HAVE BEEN AWAY. Thjis piece u have written today is just absolutely amazing short!!! and most importantly straight to the point.
“Watch your thoughts, for they become words.
Watch your words, for they become actions.
Watch your actions, for they become habits.
Watch your habits, for they become character.
Watch your character, for it becomes your destiny.”
A man can loose is wealth and He has lost nothing, He can loose his health and He has lost something but if he looses his Character ALL IS LOST.
