100 Blog Posts Milestone!
- 50 Blog Posts Milestone!
- 100 Blog Posts Milestone!
A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step. A single blog post on 5th of Jan 2009 was what set this blog in motion. I set out on a self discovery journey, with the aim of freeing myself from negative energy and to inspire my friends in the process.
The last four months have been an exciting journey for me. I have learned so much about the power of positive thinking and shared most of what I have learned. When you share something, it comes back to you, in good measure, pressed and well shaken.
Inspiring Friends
I genuinely care about my friends and the new friends I have made on this blog. The purpose of this blog, as you probably have heard me say before, is to inspire you to be the best you can be. We are still a long way from reaching the pinnacle of this blog, but so far so good.
Friends, who have posted comments on this blog, sent me encouraging emails and Facebook messages have been my inspiration to continue. Inspiring friends was something I did on and off over the years. But this year, I decided to take it online and have been making a post on this blog almost daily; I have been able to reach out to more people.
21,261 unique people from 86 countries have been able to read this blog in the last four months. They have collectively spent more than 2,500 hours on this site. I truly hope that that time has been well spent and has made a positive impact in their lives. I hope the time you have spent on this blog has been worth it and has made a contribution to your life.
The blog has attracted more 1,198 comments at the time of writing this post. I would like to thank the people who have posted comments and encouraging messages. A community of regulars has evolved, and I will continue to foster it.
If you have not posted a comment, please do and let me know what you think of my work, and connect with other readers. Eventually I will build a virtual community around the blog for friends to inspire each other.
Personal Growth
My biggest lesson since launching this blog is that it is not the big ideas that we have that make the difference. It is not the desire to become better that makes us better. It is the small regular steps that we take that make all the difference. It is our habits that determine our destiny.
Do you find yourself dreaming up what could be if only this or that worked out in your life? I was in that situation not long ago. But slowly, I am transforming from a talker to a doer. It does not happen overnight but the journey has started.
I would like to encourage you to join me on this journey of personal growth. Personal growth does not happen overnight, it is the small steps that you take, such as reading inspiring blogs that eventually help you put the pieces together. Eventually you will be able to connect the dots if you keep hearing positive messages.
Secret Weapon
Soon after launching this blog, I met a secret weapon that has been instrumental to the success of this blog and has kept me on my toes. My secret weapon has assured me that I have no option but to keep inspiring people and bring joy to their lives; through inspiring positive messages.
Blog Series
In January and early February 2009, my mind was racing with ideas of what I wanted to go onto this blog. I filled notepads with blog topics ideas. My list of topics ranged from business to health, relationships to money, and from emotions to careers.
I realized that I had to have a better way of organizing information and present it to you in a meaningful way. A month or so after launching the blog, I decided to organize my ideas in series. This h as helped me plan up to 3 years in advance how I will present my ideas to you. This is the progress so far:
- Success Series – This series defined what success is and featured powerful tips and ideas for succeeding in life. This is the original series that set the foundation for this blog.
- Power Series – Powerful arsenal for turbo charging you to success. Includes discipline, follow up, commitment, action and many more.
- People Series – Inspiring series about relating with other people. No man is an island. Succeed by bringing out the best in others.
- Mind Series – Success or failure is all in the mind. This series focuses on ways of getting more out of our minds for success.
- Health Series – Articles ranging from depression, eating habits, exercise, alcohol etc. Health is an integral part of success. Tips on healthy living.
- Emotions Series – These are inspiring articles dealing with emotions. Includes tips for understanding, managing, and harnessing emotions for success.
- Sports Series – Eye opening series with insights from the world of sports. Practical lessons on success based on sports.
The Road Ahead
I have made a living on the internet for the last 7 years. However, it is a different ball game when you use your real name. I was thriving on being anonymous. I could launch hundreds of websites and if they were not profitable I would move on and nobody would ever know.
But with this blog, I am giving my readers the real me. My regular readers include my family and closest friends and acquaintances. Some think I give out too much personal information or too many gems of wisdom gained through years of struggle.
It is true I have shared very private details about my life on this blog. My reason for sharing my stories is for people to make inferences to their own life. It is for you to draw parallels with your own life and hopefully be more inspired than you would if you read a textbook.
I will continue sharing more of me in the months ahead. I will continue sharing more of me with my readers in the years ahead. It is for a good cause, I tell myself. It has been fun writing on this blog and connecting with my friends and making new friends.
The future of this blog is bright. It will grow using the very same lessons that I have been teaching you. For example I have used the power of focus, the power of commitment, and kaizen (baby steps).
I have been teaching people about the power of taking action, time management, seeking specialized knowledge etc. My plan is to use all the lessons on this blog to grow it so that it can reach more people.
So far I have been posting almost daily. I promised my readers 300 blog posts this year, and I intend to keep that promise to you. Stay tuned my friend, 200 new blog posts are coming to a computer near you this year.
What is in it for you?
Are you a positive thinker? Do you want to have a better life? Do you want to make positive change in your business, career, family, relationship, health or emotions? Then you are in the right place. This blog will continue inspiring you to take control of your life, to leave courageously and succeed more in your endeavors.
A daily dose of this blog will be an added ingredient in your success equation. If you are new to this blog, please read through the old articles. Go through them month by month starting in January 2009 to get a firm grounding of the how this blog has grown and the direction it will take.
As I said earlier, I am in the process of creating a community area for blog members to connect with each other, share inspiring stories and make new friends. I hope you will be part of that community.

@ Humphrey – I used to know about baby steps for years, but my mind is always racing thinking of what to do next, what the next big thing is… But slowly am getting to understand the power of those baby steps. Just get started, do a little everyday, with time it adds up, then multiplies and eventually explodes (hopefully in a good way). Thanks for your kind message. I will keep drinking the water that I preach.

congrats on hitting a century!!
it’s hard to do so without gritty determination and a guiding philosophy, coz otherwise it would have been an overdose of verbal diarrhoea.
Encouraging people day and night for all that time is not a joke, it means you really care about them, and would like to see more positive thinkers around in these very difficult times.
it reminds me of Mr Maneno at Lenana school those old days, with all his “Check talks”, though those were mostly informative, unlike your blogs which are there to build up people and let them challenge themselves on common issues they have to deal with daily; not telling them what to do, which sets you apart from a lecturer.
Cheers bro, keep it up!!

@ Saeed – Thanks for the kind message. I made an early decision to focus on timeless content. What I find is that current issues are blown out of proportion by the media but look really minor on the backdrop of history. On a long enough timeline, what is big breaking news might not attract much interest. Having said that, if I do find something happening now that will have an impact in 10 years, I will certainly add it. Cheers.

Good morning Daniel,
Kharay
CONGRATULATIONS! I SO love reading your blog and who knows maybe one day we can write a blog together?:-) I would like to encourage you to keep at it and don’t give up or give in. The journey you embarked on at the beginning of the year is no easy feat and as you rightly put it – stopping the blog would have been the easy way out. I thank God you didnt and that you have freely given of your time and chosen to share you. That to me is what makes your writing so real and refreshing! Food for thought: I would love to have a GOLOLI KWA GOLOLI (which basically means a sit down:-) When the community is formed it would be nice to share with each other and be able to encourage each other. It could be something that happens bi-monthly. I would LOVE to put it together. Have an AWESOME day! CONGRATULATIONS

@ Josephine – If you are interested in doing a guest post, let me know through email or the contact form on the site. It may have to fit in with the current series or we can put it in the next series or interrupt the series depending on what it is. Gololi kwa Gololi ( – wow, I was never the best in my swahili classes…lol yeah ) would be good.
Thats a good idea, once the community grows we could meet up, at the moment the readers come from 86 countries, but there are quite a number in Nairobi so I guess that would be a good place to start.

Good Path Ngari. You are one among those that have followed the small still voice in your heart. The war has just began.Be strong and remember that success comes through endurance, commitment and obedience to God.

I am always inspired by people like you who have passion in people development. Most people work so hard to develop successful institutions while neglecting themselves.
This is what your blog has taught us,that we have to start with ourselves, our inner beings as we grow to have an influence on our surroundings.
Keep up the good work Ngari. You are an inspiration and am happy to learn from you always.

Congratulations Daniel. You have impacted on my life in a way I never anticipated. I have read each of your blog posts. To be honest, I thought they were more than a hundred, going by the value I got from them. It is good to see you are living proof of what you preach.
